Is it just me or do you feel oddly connected to this novel? After reading it..I just kept it near me always.I thought about it constantly.I had dreams.I recommended it to everyone I knew.

Re: A deep connection
Sun, February 13, 2005 - 7:19 PMI'm reading it for the second time now and have found that the book definitely spills over into the real world. The first time I read it, I was in a new house and my room kept shaking for no reason. It was very creepy until I found out that it was built on faulty foundations and every time someone ran up or down the stairs, the house would shake.

Re: A deep connection
Mon, February 14, 2005 - 3:00 PMThere certainly is a strong connection for me, I read this book when it first was published and it still huants me. Its one of the best books I have read and I believe resonates with some sort of latent power. Not only in an emotional way, as any good book would but on a subconcious level it taps into the collective fears and anxieties of the human condition.
Any one heard the Poe album that goes with it?
It's really good to. -

Re: A deep connection
Thu, March 10, 2005 - 5:41 PMi know every lyric on poes album "haunted", it made the book far more intense. max, i can't describe the book better than you, so i will not try. i tell everyone to read it (get their own copy, mine doesn't leave my sight) and listen to the album. its kind of like a good trip, no matter how hard you try you can never go back to seeing life the exact way you once thought it should be. it opens your mind. -

Re: A deep connection
Wed, March 23, 2005 - 10:48 PMYes. I must admit I have read a fair amount of books from all kinds of genre's but House of Leaves is unique. The album is fantastic as well, i am not sure how their creators relate but I think it's brother and sister.
